Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile. I have been reading books that are at the end of a series, so it is kind of hard to blog about them without giving too much away.
Anyway, book number 106 was Deep In The Heart Of Trouble by Deeanne Gist.
Yeah another Deeanne Gist, I can't help it I just love all her books! This book is no different, I loved it just as much as all her other books. This is a book that sucks you in and you can't put it down till you finish.
Deep In The Heart Of Trouble is set in Corsicana, Texas in the year 1898.
Essie Spreckelmeyer is the town spinster and has given up trying to find a husband. After all she is 34. She believes that she won't ever find a husband anymore, so she embraces her spinsterhood. She does have quite a reputation for riding her bike, snake hunting, beating everyone at checkers and doing anything else with all the teenage boys in her small town in Texas.
Essie's father has been the judge in Corsicana for more then 10 years. Their town has turned out to be an oil boom town. Judge Sprecklemeyer owns the biggest oil company in town, and he lets Essie run the company.
Tony Morgan's father just died, leaving his whole oil company to his step-brother, half of which is rightfully Tony's. Tony's step-brother takes it all in stride and kicks Tony out of the house.
Tony decides he's going to go get a job at the next biggest oil rig in Texas, Sprecklemeyer Oil Company.
Tony decides he's going to go get a job at the next biggest oil rig in Texas, Sprecklemeyer Oil Company.
The first time Tony sees Essie is when he is standing on her porch about
to knock on the door when he spots a person at the top of the stairs straddling the banister and slide down. Tony can't believe he just saw a woman and a pretty one at that just slide down the banister. When she sees him standing there she is totally embarrassed, after all this tall very handsome man just saw her slide down the banister! This is the type of book that will make you laugh and cry and be totally mad at the same time. It is a really good book by an awesome author! Happy Reading!(:
